    Hello all πŸ™‚

I’ve been working on an Android app for the Game Frame for the last few months, and today I released it.

With the app, you can control the Game Frame (using the wi-fi adapter), and you can also create your own pixel art and upload it to the device (static images for now, animations will come soon). The drawing mode supports multiple palettes from classic systems (NES, C64 etc), layers with multiple blending modes and lots of tools. It’s like a mini retro Photoshop πŸ™‚

The app also has support for widgets that let you control the Game Frame and even has a Quick Tile to allow you to power it on/off from the notification shade.

I am planning on adding many features in the near future, like quick actions, Android Wear support, tablet support, online syncing etc.

You can find the app here: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.savvasdalkitsis.gameframe

Oh and did I mention. It’s open source πŸ™‚ You can find the source on Github (https://github.com/savvasdalkitsis/gameframe) where you can also file bugs and feature requests.

Please try it out and let me know what you think

Just got it. I’ve entered the IP address (which works on my PC) but I see a message “operation failed.” I tried the “find” option but got operation failed too. If I try the brightness or power I also get “operation failed” Is there any log file or something that might let me know what the issue is?

(Jeez – nevermind. My wifi on the phone wasn’t on.) Sorry. Once that was on everything is working correctly.

Glad you worked it out πŸ™‚

You had a good point though. I will need to add a log function with the option to share it so I can troubleshoot issues like this.

In the meantime, if any other issues pop up, you can find info in the Android system logs using ‘adb’ and ‘logcat’ (googling that will show you lots of results on how to do it, better than I can explain in this post).

For crashes and feature requests, please raise issues on the github page: https://github.com/savvasdalkitsis/gameframe/issues

    Hope you like the app
