Jeremy WilliamsKeymasterAs a matter of fact, you can. First get your current wifi.ini by typing this into a browser:
http://your.ip.address.here/00system/wifi/wifi.ini
Save that file to your desktop, or copy/paste it into a new file with that name. Then open it and add the line
apabright = truesomewhere under [network]. Then go to the /help page on your Game Frame like this:http://your.ip.address.here/help
Under Replace index.html, click Choose Files and point it to your new wifi.ini. Then click Upload. Reboot the Game Frame, and you should be good to go! You can check it using step 1 above.

borisParticipantAWESOME!

borisParticipantSo it all worked. Uploading Firmware via Manager, F/X graphic downloaded, both FXs cycle and wifi.ini edit also seemed to have worked – in F/X I see very gradual colors even on lowest brightness, so I should have done this properly.
Great stuff, Jeremy, thank you so much for your continued support!

borisParticipantHello Jeremy,
it looks like the random number thingie in the Beta firmware is broken. Because I know that random never really is random, I waited for two weeks, but I am pretty sure that especially one animation gets played at least 10x more often than the others. This consistently over the past two weeks. Can’t see a problem with the storage, it’s only there once and there is nothing that should trigger it more often than others. Could you be so kind to check that out?
Also, any progression on the new Firmware? I’d love to see more procedural animation (and a mode that switches randomly between slideshow and procedural).
Grüße aus Deutschland, Boris

Jeremy WilliamsKeymasterHi Boris,
You’re quite right about the RNG. When connected to the Internet it does initialize with a cloud-based seed, but the sequence is only pseudo-random. There isn’t a great RNG for Photon yet but there has been some movement on it. I’ll ping the community and see what’s happening.
As for the procedural FX, I’d love to return to that asap but it’s a free-time kind of project and that’s very limited right now.

Jeremy WilliamsKeymasterBoris: Got some help and the random code now uses a better RNG. Try this and let me know how it affects your results.

borisParticipantWow – from “I have no time” (which is understandable) to “Here is a fix” in under nine hours. THANK YOU!
Will try tomorrow, not at home tonight.
Cheers, Boris
