I will probably and up end up cutting a section out of the back panel in order to access the SD card without unscrewing.
on the same topic, someone posted on the main forum about replacing the 4 screws on the back with Brass Knurled Screws (6-32 x 3/8) from Home Depot. Also a good idea.
McMaster-Carr has low-profile head (3/16″ height) thumb screws that might work:
