That worked!! Thanks! System now 6.0 and I see “Effects” in the mode drop down and the MENU button works!

I just emailed you the same file that’s on GitHub, zipped up. 🙂 I just wanted to be sure you were getting the file correctly… maybe a problem with how you were downloading? Anyway, glad it worked!

The github file was 33k while this one is 94k

That seems like a different page than where I downloaded the previous version. Weird. That one is certainly 94k. I still have the file I downloaded before but I have no idea why the name is “gameFrameWifi_20161201.bin” but the wrong size unless my browser did it to me. I’m sorry I wasted your time on this.

OKay now that I thought about it…. What does the “Effects” selection under the mode drop down do?

It’s still in development, but it will activate the new Effects mode. You can see a preview by texting “plasma” if you’ve setup the IFTTT SMS applet. Or type that into the command function in the Particle app.
